Breyer Cody's Wish | Make-A-Wish Commemorative Edition

A Champion on the Track. A Hero in Real Life.

Few stories capture the heart quite like that of Cody's Wish—a Thoroughbred racehorse whose journey from the paddock to the winner's circle embodies the power of dreams fulfilled. This bay stallion by Curlin has proven himself not only as a dominant force on the racetrack but also as a living symbol of hope for one young man and everyone who has followed his remarkable story.

The Champion

Cody's Wish has built a racing legacy defined by consistency and heart. His crowning achievements came at the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, where he claimed victory not once but twice—first in 2022, then again in 2023—closing out his career on an extraordinary high note. These wins earned him the 2022 and 2023 Secretariat Vox Populi Award, an honor reserved for racehorses whose stories resonate far beyond the track. With back-to-back wins, Cody's Wish became the first horse in history to receive this award two years running.

The Inspiration

Behind every champion is a story, and Cody's Wish's is one of connection and compassion. Foaled in 2018, he crossed paths that same year with Cody Dorman, a Kentucky boy living with a genetic disorder. Through a wish experience arranged by Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, young Cody visited Gainsborough Farm, where he met a weanling who walked straight up to him and rested his head in his lap. That tender moment moved everyone who witnessed it, and the colt was named in honor of the boy whose wish brought them together.

Why This Commemorative Edition Matters

Cody's Wish stands as proof that perseverance and dreams can carry us further than we imagine. This Breyer model honors both halves of his story: the disciplined athlete who conquered the Dirt Mile twice, and the gentle companion who changed a young man's life with a single, unscripted gesture. For collectors, horse enthusiasts, and anyone who has followed his journey, this commemorative edition captures a legacy that goes far beyond the racetrack.
