Mimicking the geometric stackers used in Montessori programs, these Melissa & Doug Geometric Stacker Toys teach many of the same principles. Your child learns colors in the order in which they are perceived in a light spectrum (ROY G BIV, with an extra green block in the middle of each), different geometric shapes (both basic and advanced--circles to octagons), stacking, cause and effect (building up/knocking down and what happens when the wrong block is placed on the stacking pole before the others), as well as many other skills. Three sets of eight stacking shapes are included in this toy, which is suitable for 2yrs and up.
